Family Abductions: What Needs To Happen in 2019

December 31, 2018

As we bring in the New Year 2019, we want to extend our hope for all parents that are searching for their kidnapped children. This would also include parents that have not yet been reunified with their kidnapped children and those that have been alienated from them. It is often said that one of the cruelest forms of child maltreatment is a family abduction as well as parental kidnapping is child abuse. In the protective parent cases that we have followed over the past several decades, the protective parent most often after being ordered by the family law judge to share custody — kidnaps their child(ren) and self-appoints themselves judge, jury and executioner.

In recent years with updated global security and passport systems and social media it was perceived that the protective parent movement was no longer active. Most counties rightfully respected venue and jurisdiction as we saw in the Kelly Rutherford and Sean Goldman cases. With the prosecution of Sandra Grazzini and her three co-conspirators and Angie Vu Case, parental kidnappers were finally being punished for their crimes.

But we still have a very long way to go. Here is a list of what we would like to see in 2019.

  1. Extradition of Parental Kidnappers from Other Countries — A proclaimed protective parent should be extradited if they flee a custody order after adjudicating the case. In cases we followed such as Joanne McDowell, she did not like the results of the Family Law Court Trial in North Carolina so she fled to Canada and received a completely different verdict. The Canadian Court should have transferred venue of the case back to the United States as the U.S. did in sending Kelly Rutherford’s case to Monaco.
  2. U.S. State Department — This department should take a stronger position with countries that allow U.S. Citizens to live illegally in those countries. Especially proclaimed protective parents that have ignored U.S. Family Law Court Orders.
  3. The Media — It is time for the global media to stop allowing agenda-based reporters to write bias and inflammatory stories of proclaimed protective mom that have kidnapped their children. And these reporters should NEVER interview the alienated children.
  4. Australia — This country needs new laws to protect and recover family abducted children. It can start by preventing patents like Dorothy Lee Barnett from profiting from a parental crime she plead guilty to. It also need to punish Australian Mum Cassie Watter to a maximum sentence for kidnapping her two daughters. She should never be allowed unsupervised vsitation.
  5. Child’s Health Records — No parent or third party should EVER put a child’s health record.
  6. Sandra Rucki – Dede Evavold — They need to quit blaming the Family Court and quit harassing people. They need to move on with their lives.
  7. Adult-Children Survivors — If they have not reunified with their left-behind parent it is time to do so. If they scammed money from their left-behind parent providing them hope of a reunification they need to show some compassionate and find a way to fix the situation.
  8. Law Enforcement — In the aftermath of the #metoo movement they must carefully investigate and allegations in a custody case and remind divorcing parents of the long-term impact of a false allegation.
  9. Protective Moms — Should refrain from self-diagnosing child abuse in a Family Law case.
  10. Family Law Allegations and CPS Allegations – Protective Parents should never label their former spouse as a child abuser unless the parent has been convicted in a criminal trial.
  11. Parental Alienation — In this new era of coparenting, parents should refrain from engaging in parental alienation.
  12. Federal Courts — Need to prosecute parents for U.S, Passport Fraud and related criminal acts.
  13. Family Court Reform — The protective parent movement agenda-based rhetoric that the Family Courts and Child Protective Services are not effectively serving the best interests of the children in this era of our legal system wrongfully discredits the many good judges and CPS workers with advanced degrees. This premise must not be tossed aside as a excuse to kidnap your children. There are always legal alternatives.
  14. Protective Parent Movement — These groups that promote committing acts of civil disobedience should not be given government funding.
  15. Celebrity — It’s time for a celebrity to speak out against both parental kidnapping and parental alienation. With so many contentious divorces in Hollywood, we are waiting for a celebrity to step forward and help with this cause.
  16. Recovery / Reunification — We want to see a recoveries, reunifications and many parental kidnappers plead guilty to Felony Child Concealment in 2019.

Happy New Year!

Angie Vu Extradited to France after 7 Months in Jail

Angie Vu Extradited to France

On June 23, 2016, a U.S. Federal Judge ordered that Angie Vu be extradited to Paris, France after allegedly kidnapping her child.

DJ and Model Angie Vu did what Kelly Rutherford, Guy Ritchie, Dorothy Lee Barnett, Michelle Wolferts and Sandra Rucki did. She violated the Custody Order of a judge and engaged in a Family Abduction. For Angie Vu, the violation of the Family Law Judge’s Custody Order in France came with a severe penalty, France has demanded Angie Vu be extradited to face charges.

Like many protective moms, Angie Vu decided to stay in jail and fight extradition like Dorothy Lee Barnett did. But Barnett kidnapped her child for almost 20 years. For Vu, it was only several months although Vu had alleged planned to send her child to live in Vietnam, a Non-Hague Country.

Unfortunately for Angie Vu, France has a long history of ignoring International Custody Orders and it is only recently in Neighboring Country Monaco in the Kelly Rutherford Case that the court was cooperative in an International Custody Case. There are cases of French Nationals that have violated a United States Custody Order and fled with their dual-citizenship child. In those cases, the French National was allowed to stay in her country.

So in the case of Angie Vu, this celebrity will likely be prosecuted by the French Courts and will unlikely receive the leniency that Dorothy Lee Barnett did in South Carolina. It’s likely Angie Vu will have supervised visitation with her child until she turns eighteen.

We’ll see if the French Courts are able to work this case back to coparenting or joint custody which seems to be the new goal in these cases. It seems like protective mom Angie Vu has been use to getting anything she wants with her celebrity status. Apparently, that didn’t work for her this time.

U.S. State Department to Decide Fate of Angie Vu

The New York Daily News is reporting that a Brooklyn federal magistrate judge has ruled that France has met its legal obligation for the extradition of Angie Vu to face parental abduction charges in Paris. In his decision, Magistrate Judge Viktor Pohorelsky wrote in his decision “that it is beyond his jurisdiction to address Vu’s claims she was a victim of domestic violence“. The U.S. State Department must now approve the extradition as the final step.

Angie Vu ignored a court order on August 29, 2015 and did not return her 9-year old child to the custodial father in Paris. On November 4, 2015, Vu was arrested and has been incarcerated in Metropolitan Detention in Brooklyn, New York since.

Editor’s Note: The U.S. State Department should act swiftly and decisively in approving the extradition of Angie Vu to France. Like Kelly Rutherford, Vu engaged in “forum shopping” to find another venue after losing custody. The judge was correct in not allowing her to use the domestic violence allegations to stall the extradition like Eileen Clark did the United Kingdom; Dorothy Lee Barnett did in Australia; and Holly Ann Collins in the Netherlands. The proper venue for the case is Paris, France and Angie Vu can use those claims in her criminal defense. If she didn’t like the custody arrangement, rather than withholding custody in the United States — she should have used her lawyers in Paris rather than kidnap her 9-year old to Vietnam to live with her family members.

Like Kelly Rutherford, I believe celebrities like Angie Vu should be held to a higher standard. Angie should apologize to the French Courts, her former spouse, her daughter and become a spokesperson for International Custody Cases and International Coparenting.

Protective Moms Organization Not Supporting Parental Kidnapper Angie Vu

Safe Kids International, the Protective Parent Organization / Family Court Critics led by Cindy Dumas has been social media shaming the judge, prosecuting attorneys and the fathers in almost all new parental kidnapping and high conflict divorce cases. They have been supporting the protective mothers without any discretion for the possibility that any or all allegations may be unsupported.

So Angie Vu, “Asia’s Sexiest DJ has been incarcerated in the Metropolitan Detention in Brooklyn, NY since November 4, 2015.  She was arrested at JFK Airport as she tried to flee with her 9-year old daughter to Vietnam. She had previously agreed to return the child to the child’s father Richard Froger in Paris, France. The father has custody of Vu’s child in Paris, France and the child was expected to be back in Paris on August 29, 2015.

On February 3, 2016, Angie Vu made a personal plea to Brooklyn Judge, Viktor Pohorelsky. France has requested the United States extradite the celebrity Angie Vu to face parental kidnapping charges. Vu in a 20-minute rambling statement claimed she was the victim of domestic violence; claimed her daughter’s biological father was wrongly granted custody; and said she was falsely accused of being a porn star.

The Vietnamese-born model has appeared in Playboy and the TV Show America’s Got Talent where she smooched with Nick Cannon.

Back to Safe Kids International. It appears that this protective parent organization has decided to not support Angie Vu since we see no evidence of this high profile case on their Facebook Public Shaming page. Like the other protective moms/family court critics (Michelle Wolferts, Maya Tsimhoni, Sandra Rucki, Kelly Rutherford) — Angie Vu is claiming to be a victim of Domestic Violence. In this case, only Rucki and Vu of this group are currently incarcerated and considered to be flight risks.

I am not sure why Safe Kids International does not appear to be support Angie Vu. It might relate to Angie Vu’s profession, lifestyle or that they may actually agree with us —  that Angie Vu is guilty of the crime of International Family Abduction.

Another Celebrity International Family Abduction Case – Model/DJ Angie Vu Ha Jailed

January 4, 2016

angie vu, parental kidnapper

On November 4, 2015, Angie Vu Ha was arrested at JFK Airport as she tried to flee the United States for China. France called for the US to extradite Vu. She has been held in a Brooklyn Jail since. Angie Vu Ha had initially agreed to return her daughter to the child’s father, Richard Froger in Paris on August 29. She has been denied bail. Vu had emailed Froger that she was taking the girl to live with her family in Vietnam for one year.

Vu, who has been called ‘Asia’s sexiest DJ’, is facing child abduction charges in France. She allegedly bough tickets for the flight one day after losing custody of her daughter. The model has posed for Playboy and has appeared on America’s Got Talent.

Editor’s Note: What was celebrity Angie Vu thinking? In the aftermath of the Kelly Rutherford International Custody Case, why would she think she could take her child to Vietnam after losing custody. The child had been spending the summer in the United States like the Rutherford children. Angie Vu has a petition on GoPetition.com.
