Gina and Doug Dahlen’s Defense

June 11, 2016

Gina and Doug Dahlen, the owner’s of White Horse Ranch in Herman, Minnesota are attempting to use as their criminal defense that the Rucki Girls could have left the ranch at any time. In the ’70s, Patty Hearst later diagnosed with Stockholm Syndrome could have left the Synbionese Liberation Army (SLA) too.

Meanwhile, at Cashwise Grocery stores in Minneapolis, the Rucki girls photos were appearing on grocery bags in the nationwide search for the girls in this Teenager Family Abduction.

The more likely story is that the girls’ mother, Sandra Rucki was calling the girls from her secretive location using prepaid phone cards. She would be telling them to stay in hiding for the cause. She would promise more media coverage and potential television interviews. These minors much like Patty Hearst most likely had Stockholm Syndrome and it is unlikely that Gina and Doug Dahlen were innocent bystanders.

What is mystifying about these proclaimed child protectionists is that they are ironically not assigning any responsibility to supporters of their cause. There should be higher standards and better judgment for so called protective parents. It is irresponsible for anyone to represent Gina and Doug Dahlen as victims in this case. They need to be held culpable in this Teenager Family Abduction.

Stockholm Syndrome – Definition

“Stockholm syndrome, or capture-bonding, is a psychological phenomenon in which hostages express empathy and sympathy and have positive feelings toward their captors, sometimes to the point of defending and identifying with the captors.” – Wikipedia

The 19-year-old American newspaper heiress Patty Hearst was kidnapped and held hostage by the Synbionese Liberation Army (SLA) in 1974. She appeared to develop sympathy with her captors and joined in a robbery. She was eventually caught and received a prison sentence.

Editor’s Comments: Over the years in Family Abduction Trials, there have been a number of third party conspirators that have taken the witness stand to testify that they were just helping the parental kidnapper as good samaritans. Some of them cried on the witness stand when admonished by the District Attorney that they could be charged. These protective parent movement supporters and/or family court critics didn’t believe that they would ever be prosecuted for helping a parental kidnapper. To all searching parents, the kidnapping of their child is one of the worst nightmare’s for a parent. Finally, a District Attorney has stepped up in Minnesota that will take the first step toward changing that storyline. Parental Kidnapping is a horrible crime against children and teenagers. These three individuals could have helped the Rucki girls in so many other ways other than helping Sandra Rucki deprive her former spouse of custody of his children.
