Marvin Maple Preliminary Hearing Set for March 17, 2009, 10 a.m.

Marvin Maple’s premilinary hearing for the kidnapping charges against him has been set for March 17, 2009. He remains in jail on $1 million bond.  Here is a list of the people involved in this case:

The Defendant — Marvin L. Maple, 73 of San Jose, California.

The Defense Attorney — Greg Reed or Gregory Reed, a Murfreesboro attorney.

The  District Attorney — Assistant District Attorney Allen Hale who represented Rutherford County for the February 10, 2009 hearing.

Judge Howard Wilson — He was the presiding Judge for the February 10th, hearing.

The Victims

Jennifer Bunting / Christy Baskin — Christy was 8 years old when she was allegedly kidnapped by Marvin and Sandra Maple. She is now 28 years old. Jennifer is a victim in this case.

Jonathan Bunting / Bobby Baskin — Bobby was 7 years old when he was allegedly kidnapped by Marvin and Sandra Maple. He is now 27 years old. Jonathan is a victim in this case.  

Mark and Debbie Baskin — The Baskins are the left behind parents, victims of the crime of family abduction or parental kidnapping. it is Debbie’s father Marvin and his wife that allegedly kidnapped the children.

The Witnesses

Det. Sgt. Dan Goodwin and Dt. Bill Sharp o Rutherford County’s Sheriff’s Office — They escorted Marvin Maple from California.  

Karen Hornsby, Attorney — She is the attorney or the guardian ad litem attorney who represented the Baskin children in 1989.
